Technical team of the shooting

During the production of a film many important people join the project. The functions
and main responsibilities are as follows.
- A screenwriter creates a script (a written version of a film before being filmed) either based on previously written materials, such as a book or a play, or in an original work. A scriptwriter can write a script assuming that later it will be able to sell it or it can be hired by a producer or study to write a script following certain specifications. The scripts are often rewritten and it is not unusual for more than one screenwriter to intervene in a script.
- The Producer is the person who maintains control over the complete production of a film and, ultimately, is considered responsible for the success or failure of the film and is involved in the project from the beginning to the end. The task of the producer is to organize and turn the project into a successful film. The producer would be the person who received the Academy Award as best film, in case the film won it. The producer organizes the development of the film and, therefore, is quite busy during the pre-production phase. Once filming begins, usually the role of the producer is to supervise and propose suggestions that must be taken into account by the creators of the film. However, some producers play an important role during the entire production process.
- The Director interprets the script and unifies the components of the film to create something that carries his personal vision. It's like a conductor. The director must be able to organize and control people, make them do what they want from them, but maintaining good relationships. During production, the director not only supervises the actors, but also advises the director of photography, gives instructions to the main technicians, directs the movement of the people, consults budgets and deals with external pressures. In short, the director is responsible for what happens in the shooting.
- The Director of Photography is responsible for the quality of the photography and the cinematographic aspect of the film. The director of photography transforms the ideas of the scriptwriter and the director into visual images. Using his knowledge of lighting, objectives, cameras and photographic emulsions, the director of photography creates the environment, the situation and the appropriate visual style of each shot, to evoke the emotions that the director wishes. By working intimately with the director, the cinematographer determines the camera angles, the composition of the shot and the camera movements for each shot. The director of photography then decides the lighting equipment and the type and number of cameras that will be needed for the shooting. The director of photography asks that the lights and cameras be prepared in determined to achieve the desired effect.
- The Executive Producer guarantees the financing of the film. This person usually supervises the commercial aspects, but frequently has little real involvement with the day-to-day operations during the realization.
- The Production Designer works in close contact with the director to ensure that the creative vision of the director can be incorporated into the film. The production designer, who heads the art department, is an artist responsible for creating the overall visual aspect of the film, the right atmosphere, the appropriate wardrobe and the right decoration.
