MP3 If you are interested in having some fidelity in the audio, a decent sound in your files, you should avoid this format. Why? They are files of higher resolution than MP3. A WAV file is encoded by a medium called PCM (Pulse Code Modulation). A medium that encodes the analog audio pieces and converts them into digital. AIFF Audio Interchange File Format is very similar to WAV, it also uses PCM. This format appeared as an answer of Apple before the WAV of Microsoft.
