Lucas Vidal

Lucas Vidal is a spanish composer and he live in Los Angeles. He born in Madrid and started to play his first instrument when he was 3 years old: the piano. Also he played the violin and the flute. And he always tried to compose music with those instruments since he really liked composing. He get influenced by his grandfather a lot who was one of the founders of the record company "Hispavox" and one of the artist of this recording business gave a prize to Lucas Vidal after a time, which make Lucas Vidal so happy and proud.
When he was 16 years old he went to Berklee College of Music in Boston because of a scholarship that he won and that's where he discovered that there is a degree for music for films. He even achieve to make music for a film when he was 21 years old while he was still studying. Although he had break since he was diagnosed with cancer and he had to stop his studies to treat with chemotherapy, he could overcome this illness and win two prizes for composing the most importants compositions of his university and for being the youngest student who made music for a movie with a big orchestra.

In 2013 he founded a company with Steve Dzialowski and Chris Ramsdell, called Chroma. This company is dedicated to make music for trailes and, in fact, it had a lot of success in a short time. They could compose music for trailers of The Hunger Games and Lucy, among other important trailers. He have another company too, called MUMO (Music and Motion Productions).


He usually get the inspiration just reading the script and when the movie is shooted he meet the film director and both decided when they should put the music and when they shouldn't.
He work for a lot of successful movies and he could win two Goyas: one for "Palmeras en la nieve" and other for "Nobody wants the night". Some of other movies in which he collaborated are "Fast and Furious 6" and "100 metros".
